WHAT IS DONE SO FAR

Well i said i would let you know what was happening so far with our webiste project. We had classes last week and we were trying to create a website and nothing seemed to work for us so we decided to go with WIX. The website looks really well we are very pleased with it. So monday we just need to put the finishing touches on it and put in a bit more information and we are done. Our topic is drifting it is a cool and fun website we thought and there is information on everything you need to know about drifting. We are just getting pictures to put into our gallery page and we will be fairly on our way then.

Page 1: Home Page

In this page we will explain what drifting is and where it evolved from. We will go through some drifting history and we will include some pictures to go along with this.

Page 2: Latest News

In this page we will discuss all the latest happenings in the world of Drifting. Recent competition winners, new cars etc.

Page 3: Driver Profiles

Here we will take a few different drivers and do a profile on each including their names, ages, how they got involved in Drifting, local tracks, competition results etc.

Page 4: Tracks

This page will explain all the different tracks that are used for Drifting in Ireland. We will show pictures of these tracks and give their history and locations.

Page 5: Events

This page will show all upcoming events for Drifting and where they are being held.

Page 6: Gallery

This will just be a collection of photos of different drift cars from different events.

Well we definitely got a shock the other day when we had to change our website. There was too much information on different types of Motorsport and it was easier to choose one topic. So drifting is our topic now. We have chosen a template and a background color. We have a fair idea of the layout for the website. When we are happy with our decision we will implement this into publisher. We will be meeting again on Monday and we will discuss the website further. We will lay out the information and format it and insert pictures where they are needed.

Ok well our website took a gigantic turn today in class and we have decided that instead of doing our website on all the various types of motorsport we are changing it to just doing it on one topic which is Drifting! I no its a bit late to be changing our mind but we felt we could do more with it if we just focussed on one topic and expanded on that. We will just put in extra time now in getting it up to date and running on time. Sorry for the sudden change!

We sat in on the B class today to get some work done and we realised that the majority of people are using wix which seems a whole lot better and easier that publisher. We are going to have a look at wix tonight and see if that would work better for us. We did have some work done in publisher but we feel that if wix makes our site look and feel better than we will put in the time to change it over to wix. We have our information together so once we have tried out wixs n decided which we prefer we will then implement our information. We are making progress!

We decided today on the template that we were going to use for our Website. Now that we have chosen our template we are now working on our own parts for the website. I will be talking about the rallying, Teresa will be talking about Hot Rod & Circuit racing and Michelle will be talking about Drifting and Modified cars.

We have chosen a border for our website and we also chose a background theme for the website. We are now researching our information and making out the design for the website and we will be implementing the design into the desktop publishing website template during our class time.

Today we are finally getting down to business with our website. We have choosen a suitable border that will be used on all pages of our website and we will but a background colour to go with this. We have found Publisher difficult to understand at first but we have finally figured it out. We are all very pleased with the progress so far and the input from each other. Hopefully it will continue like this!

We have started putting our website together using publisher. We are testing different backgrounds and pictures to see what will work the best. We will keep ye posted!!!!

• This page will give a brief introduction to the world of Motorsport and Modified cars. We will mention the different kinds of Motorsport that we will talk about(Rallying, Hot Rod Racing, Circuit Racing and Drifting) and we will talk a little about Modified cars also.
• We will also insert pictures of each on this page to give people a visual of the cars.

Page 2: An Introduction to Rallying

This will be Lauras topic. She will talk about:

• How Rallying came about and when it begun
• Why people enjoy rallying
• Different Rallys around Ireland
• Rally Drivers and Co-drivers
• Most famous Rally Cars of the past
• Pictures will also be inserted of various Rally cars in action

This will also be Lauras topic. She will:

• Describe the events of the Cork 20 Rally
• Describe the History and success of the Cork 20 Rally
• Describe the events of the Rally of the Lakes and its main sponsors
• Put in Pictures of both events will be inserted on this page
• Describe the WRC, and its History
• Pictures will also be inserted of the WRC

Page 4: Hot Rod Racing

This will be Teresa's topic. She will:

• Explain the events of Hot Rod racing
• Describe the History and Success of Hot Rod Racing
• Talk about Championships that Irish clubs compete in
• Give the history of Tipperary Motor Speedway (our local club)
• Do a drivers profile from one of the classes
• Include various pictures of the different classes

This will also be Teresa's topic. She will:

• Describe the difference between Hot rod racing and Circuit racing
• Talk about Irelands biggest known track(Mondello Park International Race Circuit)
• Describe some of the classes that race there
• Do a drivers profile from one of the classes

Today My group and I got together and decided on a topic for our website. We decided to dedicate our webpage to Motorsport and Modified cars as we each have a keen interest in this topic. We assigned different pages and topics to each other to share the workload. We decided on a deadline for each of us to have our relevant topics done to give each other. We will keep you posted!
